Why Choose WordPress?

Posted by Daniel Jauk, 1 Aug, 2014 | 2 Comments »

At Enigma Digital, many of our customers wonder why choose WordPress? The answer boils down to three features that we believe gives WordPress an advantage over any other website framework in the market.

1) It’s Flexible and Scalable

WordPress is easy-to-use and allows you to instantly make changes to your website using a CMS (Content Management System). Small businesses change with the direction of the market — meaning you don’t want your website to hold you back. By using WordPress, you can easily update content and even change the theme (unique design) to grow alongside your business. WordPress also allows you to extend your website’s functionality quickly and efficiently through plugins. These plugins empower you to build anything from stunning picture galleries to dynamic event management applications and much more.

2) It’s Open Source

WordPress is an Open Source Project, which not only makes it a very cost effective option, but also means WordPress is constantly changing and subject to peer review from its many thousands of contributors. With such a large community of people working all the time to make it better, you can feel confident knowing your website is built on a solid framework.

3) It’s Geared Towards Search Engine Optimisation

Google loves the logic and structure of how WordPress works, so it’s great for SEO (Search Engine Optimisation). WordPress makes it easy for Google to review your keywords, links, and meta data, which results in a higher search engine ranking and more traffic to your website.

The number of plugins is a huge incentive to use WordPress if you’re not a “code poet”. It allows the everyday layman the ability to add awesome extra functionality with a few clicks.
