4 Signs Your Website Needs a Revamp

Posted by Maeve, 7 Dec, 2012 | No Comments »

A few years back, you probably won kudos for owning a website with the trendiest design and latest features. Fast forward a few years and what you have is a site that fails to draw as much traffic, despite maintaining the same appearance and feel.

Well, the culprit is right there – your website still maintains the same look and feel.  If you listen closely, your website is screaming for a revamp.

Traffic drops

The first sign that your websites needs a revamp is the fall in the number of visitors. Who wants the same old candy every time they visit a store? To hold on to customers’ interest, you need to give them new candies and this calls for a revamp.

Crazy code

Another glaring sign for a revamp is the huge number of accumulated junk code on the site. Old dodgy code is really bad for Google and users – it this is you then its time for a revamp!

Multi-platform compatibility

With the world going mobile, if your website is still stuck in the computer era, it definitely needs a revamp. Making websites compatible for hand held devices is a matter of urgency today. In addition, websites need to render perfectly on all operating systems, platforms and browsers.

Sometimes, when your website has limited compatibility, content tends to overlap and images are not displayed as they are meant to. In such a scenario, user experience takes a beating. In the present world, not being omnipresent is a sure way of downfall. You can talk to a WordPress Australia expert to increase compatibility of your website.

Flash is no longer flashy

Flash no longer occupies the pride of place that it did a few years back. Flash increases load time, which is the last thing that people want to encounter on a web page. It’s also not able to be seen on many mobile devices such as iPhone/iPad… oh and also it looks really tacky now! So, do away with Flash intros and get more practical!
